Services Offered By Online Vision Screening

Standard Vision Screening - The standard vision screening includes several basic tests that are included in most routine eye exams.  The first part of the screening is a questionnaire that gathers information on your current habits, exams, and medical history that could pertain to your eyes, as well as any specific problems while working at your computer.  The actual tests include screening your distance vision, near vision, and computer vision at your specific computer settings.  The computer vision test is not able to be done in a routine eye exam by your eye care provider.  We also do an Amsler grid test and color vision screening test.  The Amsler Grid test is used to check the macular area of the eye.  This would be where problems from macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy would arise.

Advanced Vision Screening - This expanded screening includes all aspects of the standard screening.  Additionally, tests are included to check for suppression (the brain only using one eye), eye alignment (vertical and horizontal), and depth perception.  These tests are very important, especially for children because this can pick up if a person may be likely to develop amblyopia (lazy eye)..  About 4% to 5% of the population will develop a lazy eye.    If this is caught and treated before the age of 9, there is a good chance of improving vision and keeping it throughout your life.  Anaglph glasses (red/green) are required for these tests will be provided and are included with the Advanced vision Screening.
